Athletic Prowess

Beyond the fine arts area, the Germantown High School Red Devils excel in nearly any sport they try. The school offers a number of varsity sports including bowling, baseball, basketball, cross country, cheerleading, softball, swimming, track and field, dance, trap shooting, volleyball and wrestling.

Notable highlights for the Germantown High School varsity athletic teams include:

  • The Germantown Red Devil Football team won the State Championships in 1983 and 2003. Additionally, the Red Devils were Runners Up for the football state championship in 1980, 1986, 1990, and 1994.

  • The 1999 Germantown girls’ soccer team won the TSSAA state championship and finished ranked first in the country according to the USA Today girls’ soccer poll.

  • The Germantown High cross-country team has attended the state meet a number of times.

  • The Germantown Wrestling Team boasts the highest winning coach in the region.
